PARES, Ingelheim | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®




The nine-hectare VDP.GROSSE LAGE® PARES is located on the west slope of the Mainzer Berg above the town of Ober-Ingelheim. Mostly Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) grows on loess, sandy loam and loam at 250 metres a.s.l. The PARES has a slope gradient of five to ten percent. The Rhine Valley marks its climate. History: the Name Pares probably comes from the Middle High German name “parit”, which means horse. This area could possibly been a pasture for animals to graze.
