BASTEI, Traisen | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® BASTEI sits like a parabolic reflector at the foot of the breath-taking, steep and rocky Rotenfels Mountain directly above the Nahe. The white rock and the surface of the Nahe River reflect the sunlight into thi vineyard strip, contributing to the high solar radiation and collection of summer warmth in the south-facing GL BASTEI. The small 1.5-hectare vineyard site lies at 120 – 140 metres a.s.l. with a steep slope gradient of 40 %. The soils 20 – 60 % rock and comprised of porphyry and rocky-gravely loam.
