The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® SPITZENBERG is a parcel within the Hohenberg vineyard that is essentially an extension of the GL MÜHLBERG toward the west. The vineyard drops at a steep 60 percent gradient from 280 to 215 metres above sea level. The village of Weiler and the Zaber River lie at its foot. The west aspect allows plenty of sunshine throughout the day. The grey-purple gypsum marl with a share of sandy clay is rich in minerals and calcium carbonate. Like the other vineyards surrounding Pfaffenhofen, the GL SPITZENBERG is among the most fertile and warm sites in Württemberg.
