The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® STEINGRÜBEN lies in a wind-protected south-facing site between the villages Cleeborn and Bönnigheim. The vineyard rises from 245 to 285 metres a.s.l. at a 40 to 45 % gradient, which contributes positively to solar radiation and warmth. The soil is fossil-rich sandstone from the Stuttgart Formation.
