FALKENBERG, Dienheim | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP. GROSSE LAGE® FALKENBERG encompasses three parcels in the upper area of the Falkenberg vineyard. It has an east aspect and thus enjoys sunshine from early morning until midday. A neighbouring hill protects the site from cold west winds allowing warmth to collect in the vineyards. The Riesling here roots in deep loess banks and the share of loam, coarse limestone, and shell limestone lend good storage capacity. The parcels of the FALKENBERG GL lay between 140 and 160 metres a.s.l. and are slightly sloped to steep. History: The name refers to ownership by the Dukes of Falkenstein.
