The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® KIRCHENSTÜCK is directed south and southeast. The site lies above 150 metres a.s.l.. The predominant variety is Riesling. The vines root mostly in loess. The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® is only a small piece of the Kirchenstück vineyard and encompasses the parcels “Hinter der Kirche”, “Am Griebelsteinchen” and “Am Täubertspfad”. History: The site was documented under the name “iuxta Kirchenstücke” in 1297. It was likely a piece of land that served to finance the monastery kitchen, but in any case carries the term for a property of the church.
