ROSENGARTEN, Rüdesheim | VDP. GROSSE LAGE®
The small 1.22 hectare VDP.GROSSE LAGE® ROSENGARTEN is located in Rüdesheim in the Rheingau directly on the Rhine River at 90 metres a.s.l. Riesling is cultivated on very gravelly, sandy loam and terrace sediment in a flat site. This soil formation is advantageous for water drainage. Historic quartzite walls enclose the GL ROSENGARTEN.
History: The GL ROSENGARTEN gets its name from the adjacent Brömserburg castle garden. Built in 1044, it is one of the oldest castles in the Rhine Gorge.
