The 0.9-hectare VDP.GROSSE LAGE® STROHLENBERG SANKT PAUL lies in the French section of the Sonnenberg vineyard at 200 to 220 metres a.s.l. The steep south facing slope is protected in a valley basin and collects plenty of warmth during the day. The nearby Palatinate forest causes a significant sink in temperatures each night. After only 25-50 cm of loose soil, vine roots meet pure limestone – perfect preconditions for Pinot varieties.
Information: The GL STROHLENBERG SANKT PAUL is named after the eponymous castle in the immediate vicinity. As this plot is located in France, German wine estates are not allowed to use the vineyards name on the label.
