LIEBFRAUENSTIFT-KIRCHENSTÜCK, Worms | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® LIEBRAUENSTIFT-KIRCHENSTÜCK is located in the middle of the city of Worms and surrounds the eponymous Liebfrauen Church. The flat vineyard lies at 90 to 100 metres a.s.l. and is enclosed by a wall that protects it from wind. The city contributes to a rather warm climate. The soil is comprised of loess with a share of Rotliegend sandstone as well as some lightly sandy loam. Sand and gravel remaining from the old Rhine riverbed is found in deeper horizons. Mostly Riesling is cultivated in the LIEBRRAUENSTIFT-KIRCHENSTÜCK GL. History: The etymological root of the name of the vineyard is “Liebfrauenmilch”.
