LAURENTIUSLAY, Leiwen | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The rocky, 20-hectare VDP.GROSSE LAGE® LAURENTUSLAY rises from 130 to 180 metres a.s.l. at a steep 40 % to very steep 80 % slope gradient and is visibly prominent from quite a distance as one travels down the Moselle River. The vines are not shaded and benefit from a south-southwest aspect with intense sunshine nearly the entire day. The grey Devon slate stores the warmth of the day and radiates it into the vines during the night. The climate is hot, yet due to its exposition this GL is well aerated.
