BÜRGERGARTEN IM BREUMEL, Haardt | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® BÜRGERGARTEN IM BREUMEL is surrounded by a protective wall and is located within the Bürgergarten vineyard at the foot of the Haardt hills within walking distance of the little city Haardt. The 2.4-hectar plateau-like site lies at 155-165 metres a.s.l. and is slightly tilted at a 10 percent gradient toward the south and east. The high sandstone wall protects the GL BÜRGERGARTEN IM BREUMEL from cold air influences and helps create a unique microclimate. The site warms rapidly in the morning, but due to the proximity of the forest, it also cools more quickly than the rest of the Bürgergarten in the evening. The soil is deep and is comprised of variegated sandstone gravel with a high degree of weathering. The main grape variety is Riesling.
