NUSSBRUNNEN, Hattenheim | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® NUSSBRUNNEN lies east of Hattenheim above the railroad track that runs through Rheingau. The 9.7 hectare vineyard lies at around 100 metres a.s.l. on a gentle southeast facing slope of 10 percent gradient . As the lowest lying of the historic open-filed system parcels, this GL is well protected from the cold north wind and simultaneously benefits from the intensity of the Rhine Valley sun. The soils is sandy loam, light tertiary marl, and deep loess. An impermeable layer in the subsoil guarantees vines access to water, even in hot and dry years. Predominantly Riesling grows in the GL NUSSBRUNNEN.
