NONNBERG VIER MORGEN, Wicker | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.ERSTE LAGE® NONNBERG VIER MORGEN is located beneath the village of Wicker in the Rheingau. The site has a 15 % incline that faces south to southwest between 100 and 129 metres a.s.l. The clay marl soil is partially interspersed with gravel and has good water availability. A historic quarrystone wall bordering the vineyard stores warmth and protects from winds. Riesling (Pinot Noir) are cultivated here. The GL NONNBERG VIER MORGEN is a monopole vineyard that belongs to VDP.Weingut Joachim Flick. History: The oldest documents that mention this vineyard stem from the year 1281. In these it is documented that the Retter Monastery and the Tiefenthal Cloister exchanged properties. A nun’s vineyard (Nonnenweinberg) is described. At the beginning of the 19th century, earth-moving work was undertaken to change this vineyard's aspect toward the south.
