SCHLOSS PROSCHWITZ, Proschwitz | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® SCHLOSS PROSCHWITZ lies above the scarped ridge of the Elbe Valley. The vineyard has a south to southwest exposition and is gently sloped with a 10 per cent gradient. The soil is comprised of an up to six meter deep layer of decomposed loess over red granite. It has good available water capacity and warms well and homogenously in the sun exposed site. The vines are planted between 160 and 175 metres a.s.l. History: Dr. Georg Prinz zu Lippe re-purchased the vineyard in 1990. The property was confiscated from his family in 1945 without compensation.
