The Laufen vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in Laufen and the heart of the Laufen Altenberg. The location was already highly valued by medieval monasteries. That is why the wines from this location are called “KLOSTERWINGERTE.” The pure south-facing location enjoys full sunshine and therefore offers warm conditions. In contrast, the calcareous marl soil ensures cooler temperatures in the ground, resulting in slightly later ripening. Small limestone rocks on the surface provide optimal conditions for Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
