WIGOLDESBERG | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®


The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® WIGOLDESBERG is south-facing and extends four and a half hectares of vineyard from 250 to 300 meters. The GL WIGOLDESBERG is sloping with up to 60 percent gradient. Gypsum marl and loes provide the vines with good water availability. This pale soil and reflects the sunlight back into the vines. History: The Romans were the first to discover the potential of the Kapellenberg for wine cultivation. The site gets its name from the St. Michael Chapel that was built there in 1748.
