VDP: Where and how did you get the wine bug?
Adriana Zazueta Cousté: At college in Mexico City when taking my first wine class, I was awestruck by the world of possibilities that wines were.
VDP: Your first encounter with German wines?
Adriana Zazueta Cousté: When studying with the CMS, and started to appreciate the high quality wines that Germany produced.
VDP: What is your favourite story to tell about German/VDP.wine – did you have highly emotional experience with our wines / producers?
Adriana Zazueta Cousté: So many great producers in Germany! It was a memorable day for me when visiting Egon Müller’s winery, and having a stunning Riesling tasting.
VDP: How many bottles of German wine/VDP.wines do you have in your cellar?
Adriana Zazueta Cousté: Not as many as I would love to have. Difficult to resist the temptation of drinking them.
VDP: What is your favourite vineyard in Germany – and why?
Adriana Zazueta Cousté: Scharzhofberger, tasting its sublime wines in front of the vineyard, a beautiful view experiencing the terroir in a glass.
VDP: If it comes to German grape varieties, what is your favourite? Riesling, Spätburgunder or other?
Adriana Zazueta Cousté: Impossible to choose only one variety, Riesling and Spätburgunder are my favorites, though Sylvaner has surprised me.
