The steepest plot of land in the FRÜHLINGSPLÄTZCHEN site is called Rutsch. The vines were planted around 1970 by my grandpa Wilhelm. They were downright divas. The transition from ripe to rotten grapes was nowhere faster. But when everything was right and we were able to harvest the healthy grapes at just the right moment, the result was a highly elegant, world-class Spätlese - only four vintages of Rutsch have been produced since 2002. The last vintage, 2011, achieved a price of 40,- € (plus fees and VAT) at the 2012 auction. 2015 is the last vintage of this exceptional wine. Due to the large fluctuations in the vintage, the plot has been cleared and replanted in the meantime. 2015 will be the last appearance of the diva Rutsch - probably her biggest! 180 bottles of 750 ml each will be auctioned off of this highly exclusive wine.   - Frank Schönleber
