VDP.AUKTION.RÉSERVE 2027

Wines from the VDP wineries in the Rheingau achieve top prices.

This year’s Rheingau wine auction, VDP.AUKTION.RÉSERVE, held at Eberbach Abbey, achieved a total net proceeds of 250,632 euros with a total of 3,656 bottles sold.

In keeping with the long-standing Rheingau tradition—dating back to 1806—the auction took place once again this year at Eberbach Abbey. In addition to the live event in the Lay Dormitory, wine lovers were also able to follow the auction via a digital livestream.

In addition to precious rarities such as the 1946 Marcobrunn Riesling Beerenauslese and the charity wine from the Kloster Eberbach winery—a 1926 Assmannshäuser Höllenberg Pinot Noir—iconic wines in large formats were also put up for auction, fetching extraordinary prices.

A particular highlight was the 2023 MONTE VACANO Riesling Methuselah. After a thrilling “bidding duel,” the large bottle was sold to the highest bidder for 12,150 euros.

Next year, the VDP.AUKTION.RÉSERVE will take place on Saturday, February 27th 2027.
