The definitions of natural wine are as varied as they are vague. If you start from the principle that it is a wine that is as uninfluenced as possible - but influenced by the environment and people, this is the „natural wine idea“ from the year the VDP was founded in 1910. It is not possible to copy a wine characterised by terroir in a different environment. The same applies to the style of a winemaker. After all, terroir does not end in the vineyard. So, what do the former natural wine auctioneers have in common with today‘s natural wine scene?
