For five decades, the international wine world has been meeting in Mainz for the world's largest trade fair for top German wines – the VDP.Weinbörse. The focus of the opening is always an open, critical look back and forward.

After the anniversary address by VDP.President Steffen Christmann and greetings from Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Food & Agriculture, and Nino Haase, Mayor of the City of Mainz, a film review of 50 years of the VDP.Weinbörse will follow: Half a century on course: from association to annual industry get-together.

Together with the publication meiningers sommelier, the winners of the "Excellent Wine Concept 2024" (formerly VDP.Traubenadler Sommelier) will also be honored during the opening ceremony.
