This family wine estate lies 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) south of Mainz. For proprietors Lotte Pfeffer-Müller and Hans Müller it is a challenge to reconcile the tradition of the estate and the region with sustainable, progressive viticulture and the production of high-quality wines. They view organic viticulture as a great opportunity to foster the dialogue necessary between grape and soil that sets the stage for the creation of great terroir wines. They reinforce this process with the biodynamic methods prescribed by the Demeter association. Their success in practicing viticulture in harmony with nature and producing top-quality products, is exemplary.
