Bergdolt - Klostergut St. Lamprecht

In 1754, Jakob Bergdolt acquired the estate that had once belonged to the monastery St. Lamprecht and later, the University of Heidelberg. Today, the long-established family operation in Duttweiler is run by the eighth and ninth generations of the founding family, Rainer Bergdolt, and as of 2007, daughter Carolin. In the same year, the estate converted to organic viticulture. The 28 hectares (69 acres) of vines are planted primarily with Pinot Blanc and Riesling, but Pinot Noir also has its place in the portfolio. A long time ago, Bergdolt made a name for himself far beyond the borders of the Pfalz with his high-quality Pinot Blanc wines. Yet, the estate also produces Rieslings that are in top form. In addition, the estate’s sparkling wines can be excellent.
