SIEGELSBERG, Erbach | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®
The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® SIEGELSBERG is a south-facing slope with a 10 to 30 % gradient located in Erbach in the Rheingau. Riesling is cultivated here at 100 metres a.s.l. on clay covered with a layer of loess loam with a high share of fine-grained earth. The vineyard benefits from optimal solar radiation and is shielded from the wind, which leads to early flowering and ripening. The soil type makes both good water drainage and storage of moisture possible.
