STEINBERG, Niederhausen | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® STEINBERG is exactly what its name says: a rock mountain. The soil is hard and meagre, comprised of yellowish to white volcanic rock – porphyrite and melaphyre with high fossil content. The GL STEINBERG lies on a bend in the river that faces south to southeast with a 30 – 60 % slope gradient. The Nahe Valley protects this site from west wind and it benefits from the sun’s reflection from the surface of the river just below it.
