VDP at ProWein

Find us in hall 01 at the booth B 100

New look, expanded concept: around 100 of the 202 VDP.Estates will be taking part in ProWein Düsseldorf in 2023 and presenting themselves in their new designed booth on a total of 1400 square metres. The professional tasting atmosphere for the new vintage at the VDP.Winegrowers' stands, which is highly appreciated by visitors, will remain. A new feature is the VDP.Forum, which will be the central meeting point as well as a stage for tastings and panel discussions.

For the first time at ProWein, the VDP.Estates will be inviting visitors to their dialogue Origin - Future - Sustainability.

Based on the motto Origin matters, renowned winegrowers from Europe will shed light on the past and present of their regional classification of origin. On the subject of Viticulture of the future, international speakers will address the questions: Climate change & organic viticulture - the answer? Or: Can regenerative viticulture preserve the vineyard ecosystem?

We start together into ProWein 2023 with our Sparkling Kick-Off on Sunday morning at 10 am!

You can make bookings for the individual lecture slots of our VDP.Forum via the individual dates, but of course you are also welcome spontaneously at any time! Just drop by and have a look!

*The EU-wide standardized label "Protected Designation of Origin" (PDO) stands for the origin of a food product. Products bearing this seal must be produced, processed and manufactured in a defined area according to specific criteria. All production steps must take place in the region in question.

For the VDP.Estates, the ProWein "marketplace" is perfect for informing about the importance of great origins (as they are fixed in the Union systems as protected designations of origin PDOs). ‘Especially for us, who have had a commitment to preserving the cultural landscape in our DNA for over 110 years, communicating the promise of quality that Germany's vineyards make is a major concern,’ says Steffen Christmann, President of the VDP.Prädikatsweingüter. Thus, on the occasion of ProWein, there will be a new edition of the campaign Origin matters, with which the VDP puts the origin of its wines and thus the vineyards of its winegrowers in the focus.

A total of 37 organically certified VDP.Estates or those in the process of conversion will also be represented at the VDP booth. For them, the goal decided upon by all members of the VDP, ‘certified sustainability by 2025’, is or was still to be fulfilled in the economic and social dimensions. The bundled presentation proves that ecologically produced wines are becoming more and more established at the top and are increasingly seen as the basis for sustainable work in the winery.

The VDP.Winegrowers will once again be surrounded by the numerous partners of the VDP, including not only long-standing supporters but also many new partners, such as the Institute of Masters of Wine, which is an official supporter of the VDP since last year.

You will find us in Hall 1 at booths A68 - A140 and C69, C130.
