KLOPPBERG, Dittelsheim | VDP.GROSSE LAGE®



The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® KLOPPBERG has an east to northeast exposition at an altitude of 225 to 280 metres a.s.l. This makes the KLOPPBERG GL among the highest vineyards of Rheinhessen. The slope gradient ranges between 10 and 30 percent. The vines are planted in deep calcareous clay marl and the main variety is Riesling. History: The name “Klopp” first appeared in documents dating 1537. The name can be traced to the Middle High German word “klupf”, which refers to the top of a hill.
